IDEA # 2 = SUCCESS!
My Black Forest Cupcakes were a hit!
Made them twice already. First time was for just to try it out. They turned out so moist and yummy, it was such a unique and decadent cake eating experience. Hubby says this is the best I've made so far. My mom said, "ang sarap...bagay yung icing sa cake." My sister said, "uy super."
The second time, I brought them for my co-worker's going away party. They all said the cupcakes were cute. I didn't get any feedbacks because I left the place long before the cupcakes were gone. The next day, one of them said, "oh man, I HATEd your cupcakes man, they were so terrible, I had to eat two of them." Another said "You know what, You need more practice, you should bring in some more!" hahahaha. So happy they liked them.
I'll be making some for my sister's friend's birthday tomorrow. hee hee. Hope they like em. :D

06/18 2nd Cupcake Baking Session
Made Vanilla Cupcakes using the same recipe but with Crisco this time. Now I know the secret. Yesterday's was better.
First attempt to these toppings: buttercream and marshmallow fondant.
This choco buttercream was made with Meiji Hi-milk chocolate. Good milk chocolate flavor but it was too mild that the powdered sugar overpowered it. I will not repeat this recipe. I'll try other Japanese chocolates.
The mm fondant was really easy to make. I had so much fun putting the colors in and making these designs. I'll try to do more intricate ones when I have time. :D
06/17 First Try
Made some Vanilla Cupcakes today. They were very moist and tasty, however, I honestly thought there was nothing exciting about it. Maybe I'm not a big vanilla fan?
Topped them with White Chocolate Frosting made with Meiji White Chocolate. Now this made me excited. Very nice, not too sweet frosting but lacks the white chocolate taste I expected it to have. So... I'll be adding more next time. Besides, I did the white choco melting thingy wrong. I did not chop the chocolates. (tsk tsk, lazy lazy)
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture of them. Took 8 pcs over at my mom's, left 2 for my husband. Mom loved them, she kept on saying, "pwera biro ang sarap." The hubby loved them too! :D He asked "did you make those cupcakes in the container with a grocery sticker?" I said yes. He answered, "I knew it, something this good can't come from the grocery!" He was asking if I left some more for him. :D I was so happy! My brother, who is the number one critic of anything I cook, said they were good. woohoo! great start for me.

Haven't been this inspired in a while.
I was "surfed out" when I came accross this awesome blog. OMG it totally brightened up my day. I told myself right away that this is something that I would definitely enjoy doing:
MAKING YUMMY AND CUTE CUPCAKES!
The following day I was trying out some recipes already.
Call it beginner's luck? My husband, my mom and my brother all said the first batch I made were awesome. Such a pleasant surprise for me.
